about kam & his blog…

Hi I am Kam, an architect,  a contemporary urban flaneur and an amateur urban critic. Trained at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, I have traveled and worked in San Francisco, Detroit, New York , London, Cumbria, Shenzhen and Hong Kong. As a strong advocate for urban civic projects and creative adaptive reuse of our built environment, I decided to start this blog to share my observation of our surroundings. Most of the pictures in this blog are taken by myself and not edited in anyways. I want to comment only on places and things that I have witnessed and experienced.

I am hoping this blog can inspire others to engage more with the places they live in, and to have an opinion on the quality of design and beauty in their physical world. Please take a second to share your thought on what I blog. Thanks.

Your blog has a need in people’s heart. I have browsed it from here and there finding so many interesting posts for me. Here, in the world of blogs, I have not met anybody with so heartfelt and keen interests in buildings. My interests are in buildings, but in churches in many cases. I started my digital photographs by shooting photos from churches around in my country on countryside far away from big cities. Until now I have photographed about 380 churches and they are mainly on countryside.

This opened my eyes to notice how beautiful things created by a man in our world there are. I noticed altars pews, pulpits, chandeliers, organs, church ships, poor-man statues and extremely beautiful bell towers which are detached from churches. Also on every graveyard there are heart breaking memorials which are art works.

I will return to Your blog, be sure!
