In a ciity with no zoning ordances, anything can happen next door. So in order to preserve the atmosphere around the museums they buiilt, the Menil Foundation bought the entire the neighborhood and painted all the houses gray. Well, painting the houses may have just done the opposite and ruined the original color palette of the area. It would be interesting to see what the colors of the houses were before.
