Dragon Dance @SF City Hall

At City Hall with Mayor Lee and the Chinese General Consulate – Interesting how they made use of the space under the dome for the Dragon Dance, and the grand staircase for press reception.

In “classical” architecture, each space is created with flexibility to accommodate the continuously changing uses; In a “modern” building, form follows function, a building fails to adapt when the original use is abruptly changed. The same principle applies to city planning too.
